Grant opportunity for Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) will open a new round of grants to non-profit Community-based Organizations (CBOs) using federal American rescue plan elementary and secondary school emergency relief (ESSER/ARP) funds. One of the four priority areas includes $3M for behavioral health supports that offer clinical services and social/emotional/behavioral support for students.
CBOs must have a formal partnership with one or more districts, tribal compacts, or charter schools in order to be eligible. You can read an overview of the grant opportunity on the OSPI website.

The informational webinar that occurred on 10/18/21, regarding the eligibility application, was recorded.
- CBOs need to complete an application for eligibility before submitting a grant application.
- Applications for specific program areas will be staggered.
- Applications for funding related to behavioral health supports will be accepted between Monday, November 8 and Friday, November 19.
- Grant limits by organization are $500,000 or 50% of the organization’s annual budget, whichever is less.
- The spending period for grant funds will end 9/30/23.
- A Zoom webinar for CBOs planning to apply for grants to support student behavioral health will be held on Monday, November 8 at 4 p.m. Register for the webinar.
