Foundational Community Supports recognized for supportive housing

Congratulations to the Health Care Authority (HCA) and the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). Both departments were recognized by the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH). Foundational Community Supports works with DSHS’s Aging and Long Term Support Administration (ALTSA) to launch and facilitate a program that has enrolled over 20,000 individuals since it started in 2018.

CSH honored the FCS team at the Supportive Housing Symposium and 30th Anniversary Celebration. 

FCS recognized by NASMHD

The National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHD) recognized the work of Foundational Community Supports in their monthly newsletter. The article mentions the State’s forward-thinking approach to supported employment. And, talks about FCS’s innovative recovery programs such as Individual Placement and Supports (IPS). National Association for Rural Mental Health conference

There is still time to register for the National Association for Rural Mental Health conference. This years theme will be Emerging from COVID-19 Lessons Learned and Future Directions for Rural Mental Health. Conference sessions will occur every Wednesday in October. Sessions will include sessions from individuals with lived experience, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and response considerations to COVID-19.

The Homeless and Housing Resource Center has a new website

The new site brings comprehensive, no-cost training materials and resources to the Homeless and Housing Resource Center (HHRC) Community. 

On the website you can find:

  • News about upcoming webinars and recordings of past events
  • A directory of crisis and housing resources in both English and Spanish
  • Toolkits and articles about evidence-based practices in housing and treatment models
  • Self-paced online courses, accredited by the National Association of Social Workers

Start Your Path helps Washingtonians explore a career in behavioral health

The pandemic has had significant, long-term effects on behavioral health. The need for trained professionals is urgent.

HCA launched Start Your Path, a web-based resource to help people explore a career in behavioral health. The site shares options, opportunities for financial support, and a variety of behavioral health careers.

HCA encourages you to share the campaign with your networks.
