August 24 provider listening session: The state plan is changing, learn about next steps

The Medicaid state plan is a contract between Washington State and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Section 13.d of the Medicaid state plan outlines how mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) services can be billed as Medicaid encounters.

Originally the Medicaid state plan was developed when substance use disorder and mental health services were provided by two separate state agencies. Due to behavioral health integration and significant law changes section, 13.d of the state plan will change.

The change will help to clarify the language regarding integrated services but will not add additional services. The provider listening session will give you an opportunity to learn about the change and ask questions about how it will effect your work.

We hope that you find this call useful and remember to take care of yourself as well as those you serve.
