About the webinar
Fathers "parent" differently than mothers and often confuse and confound providers that offer familial support, and providers often find themselves asking, "Did he understand my recommendations?", "Why does he seem disinterested?" and "Why is he doing that?" This webinar will present new perspectives of fatherhood that can assist providers to engage fathers in their work with infants and families. Topics will include the father-infant relationship, the culture of fatherhood, provider assumptions, paternal postpartum mood disorders, communication style, occupational deprivation, ghosts in the nursery, and parallel process.

Presenter: Nicholas Kasovac, MSOT, IMH-E®
Nicholas Kasovac, MSOT, IMH-E® has worked in pediatrics for over 20 years in a variety of capacities and settings. He studied infant mental health and is endorsed as an infant family specialist. Most recently, he obtained a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and intends to continue in the early childhood field with an emphasis on the importance of the father-infant relationship.
