The updated Washington Low Income Housing Alliance toolkit to combat the criminalization of homelessness is now available

Washington Low Income Housing Aliance

The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance (the Housing Alliance) works to ensure that everyone in Washington can live and thrive in a safe, healthy, affordable home. They do this through public policy advocacy and by organizing a wide array of individuals and organizations across the state to get engaged in promoting solutions to homelessness and expanded access to affordable housing. This toolkit builds on a history of Housing Alliance and allied organizations’ materials that aim to demystify and explain legislative processes and policies. The revised and updated toolkit will be on the WLIHA website soon.

HCA is seeking feedback for youth transitioning out of homelessness

HCA’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is looking for people with lived experience in homelessness to help co-design better transition practices. We will be exploring the current state of treatment transitions, what is missing, and identify new ways of moving forward to stable housing.

We are specifically looking for families, providers, and young adults ages 18 to 25 with lived experiences of homelessness and inpatient behavioral health treatment. Individuals who want to participate can do so via small groups, interviews, or by taking a survey. Participants ages 18 to 25 will receive a one-time virtual gift card with a value of $25 for an interview and $10 for filling out a survey.

HCA will use the information gathered to inform value-based purchasing, policy, education, and technical support recommendations. This is an excellent opportunity to get your voice heard and develop new ways of transitioning young people from inpatient to outpatient care.

We will discuss the components of an effective performance appraisal meeting, share some practical tips, and discuss how to provide a meaningful supervisory experience for both supervisor and supervisee.
