Outreach Academy Save the date and registration
September 22 -23 and September 29 - 30
The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) is sponsoring a four-day, virtual- format Outreach Academy for homeless outreach workers, September 22-23 and 29-30. The training will be provided using Zoom.
About the academy
The Outreach Academy is for direct service providers who conduct outreach to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and also living with a mental health condition, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), or Co-occurring disorder.
This training will help attendees to gain the resources and knowledge they need to :
- Safely and successfully conduct outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness
- Increase staff retention,
- Build knowledge and skills for those supervising individuals who take part in this work, including peers.
Training will be provided by nationally recognized staff of the CSH (Corporation for Supportive Housing), AHP (Advocates for Human Potential), and local subject matter experts. This virtual event will be managed through the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Washington.

- Self-Care
- Harm Reduction,
- Trauma-Informed Supervision
- Elevating the work of peers.
