Apple Health (Medicaid) Provider Alert

Attention hospital providers:

The deadline to apply for Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) funds is August 1, 2020. The federal DSH Program provides additional supplemental payments to hospitals serving a disproportionate number of low income or non-insured patients. (SSA, Section 1923). Section 1923 defines the federal requirements for DSH participation by the hospitals.

If you believe your hospital qualifies for additional supplemental DSH funds, there is still time to apply for State Fiscal Year 2021 (July 2020-June 2021).

How do I apply?

The DSH application and OB/GYN certification forms are available on HCA’s hospital reimbursement page. Both forms must be completed and sent to: HCADSHAdmin@hca.wa.gov by August 1, 2020. If insufficient information is available to complete the application packet, interested hospitals should complete as much of the initial application as possible and submit it by August 1. Hospitals must complete the application packet in full by October 31, 2020.
