March Learning Community webinar slides now posted

As always, the Learning Community webinar slides are posted on The Athena Forum. The slides from March have been updated to include content from the Q&A third hour on COVID-19 and prevention services.

During the webinar, we also ran out of time for the presentation from members of the Washington Healthy Youth (WHY) Coalition on considerations for using the terminology cannabis or marijuana based on market research done in Washington state. To learn more:

Prevention Awards of Excellence nomination packet now available, due August 10

The Prevention Awards of Excellence are a wonderful opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations for their dedication and contributions to the prevention field!

Award categories include:

Young Adult Leadership
Professional and/or Exemplary Community Prevention Leader
Community Coalition and/or Community Prevention Group
Contributions to Prevention by an Organization, Business, or Agency
Outreach or Implementation of a Prevention Program

Awardees with be celebrated at the award ceremony during the Prevention Summit in November.

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to hold webinar on partnering with education sector, April 13

This webinar will examine the basics of system-to-system collaboration for connecting with the OSPI and the regional educational service districts (ESDs). To strengthen education partnerships, the focus will be on organizational culture and structure. The Student Assistance Prevention-Intervention Services Program will be featured.
