Clinical Data Repository updates

HCA supports the use of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic to help clients and providers stay connected.

HCA purchased a limited number of licenses for Zoom, a video conferencing technology helping health care providers continue seeing patients without a physical encounter. With Zoom providers can host a virtual meeting room where patients can enter and exit for their appointments.

HCA is distributing Zoom free of charge to providers who have a meaningful need for this platform to support continuity of care and who don’t already have access to telehealth technology.

HCA is distributing several hundred loaner laptops to providers to help clients and providers stay connected through online appointments.

HCA is also supporting the Behavioral Health Institute (BHI) to provide training and technical assistance to behavioral health providers to support their use of telehealth.

How to get CDR access

For new subscribers, and until further notice, OneHealthPort is waiving the HIE participant annual subscription fee for one year to view patient data through the CDR web portal. Use of other HIE services during this period voids the offer. Please contact OneHealthPort for complete details.

The CDR web portal

The CDR web portal is available for viewing by all licensed professionals. This includes physical and behavioral health providers and their delegates.

  • All organizations viewing CDR data must be a HIPAA covered entity and have a HIE participation agreement with OneHealthPort.
  • Only staff with a need to view individual client-level data may access the CDR. (As determined by their manager and configured by their internal IT access staff.) This is similar to how your organization grants electronic health records access.
  • Users can complete training in one hour or less. Organizations using the CDR will not incur training costs from OneHealthPort or HCA. Reference materials are available on OneHealthPort’s website.

As always, please contact us about presenting an overview of the CDR to your virtual gathering of healthcare industry professionals at healthit@hca.wa.gov and 360-725-5945.

2020 Attestations

Good news! We have a go-live date for 2020! The attestation portal is tentatively set to open on July 25th and will close on February 28, 2021. The last year you can attest for incentive funds is 2021, so please take advantage of this opportunity. Please let us know if you have any questions.

New Audit Q&A

You have questions, we have answers! Our audit team has created a post payment audit Q&A that you can find on our website.

Looking back on the EHR Program

As we approach the end of the Promoting Interoperability Program (formerly known as Electronic Health Record Incentive Program), we are hoping our providers will share some stories of how the program has helped their organization. Did the program help you afford an EHR? Create increased productivity? Something else entirely? If you wish to share your stories and experiences with us please email us at healthit@hca.wa.gov. Your story may be featured in one of our newsletters!
