Volunteers needed for the Prevention Awards of Excellence review team

The Washington State Prevention Awards of Excellence review team is looking for more members to review nominations for 2020. Duties include determining award categories, reviewing nomination packets, and voting on awardees. Meetings are via GoToMeeting or Skype.

Local youth coalition wins 2019 National Red Ribbon photo contest

The 2019 Washington State Prevention Awards of Excellence - Youth Leadership (group) awardee, Rock Solid, has received national recognition for their Red Ribbon Week vaping prevention message. Held in conjunction with National Red Ribbon Week, the photo contest is an opportunity to engage families and communities nationwide in efforts to keep Americans informed about the benefits of staying drug-free.

The student group from Friday Harbor High School on San Juan Island received the photo contest award for Most Educational from the National Family Partnership and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Congratulations to the inspiring students from Rock Solid!
