Annual value-based payment survey deadline is this Friday, August 31

Providers have until 5 p.m. Friday, August 31 to participate in the Health Care Authority's annual value-based payment survey.

The survey assists HCA in tracking progress toward the statewide goal of paying for value-based care, rather than paying for volume of care. It also provides valuable insight into the challenges providers face when considering adopting new payment arrangements and inform HCA’s efforts to support the provider community.

HCA invites a variety of providers across Washington State, including hospitals, health systems, clinics, tribal health care, behavioral health care, and others, to participate. The intent is to collect one response per organization and that administrators, rather than individual clinicians, fill out the survey on behalf of their organization.

A similar survey was released to health plans.

Note: Indian health care providers (IHCPs) are not obligated to participate in this survey. Due to the complexity and diversity of funding for IHCPs, the Health Care Authority's survey to measure value-based payments (VBP) to providers may not be relevant to IHCPs.
