Behavioral health integration on July 1: changes to HCA website
This is the second of two notifications.
On July 1, the Health Care Authority (HCA) will take on responsibility for the state’s community behavioral health system from the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). This includes community-based mental health services and substance use disorder prevention and treatment.
This exciting change moves our state closer to the goal of whole-person, fully integrated managed care.
To reflect the expansion of our services, we have updated our website.
When did these changes occur?
The changes occurred last night, Thursday, June 28, after close of business.
What changed?
We renamed two of the sections of website:
- “Free or low-cost health care” became “Health care services and supports.”
- “Billers and providers” became “Billers, providers, and partners.”
This means that the beginning part of our URLs (i.e. webpage addresses or links) in these sections will change:
-
https://www.hca.wa.gov/free-or-low-cost-health-care/ became:
https://www.hca.wa.gov/health-care-services-supports/
AND
-
https://www.hca.wa.gov/billers-providers/ became:
https://www.hca.wa.gov/billers-providers-partners/
Free or low-cost box on the home page
Previously, the box on the home page titled “Free or low-cost” lists:
- Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage
- Alternate help with prescriptions
- News and updates for Apple Health
- Program administration
The box now reads “Health care services and supports” and you will see:
- Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage
- Behavioral health and recovery
- Alternate help with prescriptions
- Program administration
Billers and providers box on the home page
While the name of the box on the home page changed from “Billers and providers” to “Billers, providers, and partners,” the listing under the box has not changed. It still reads:
- Prior authorization, claims & billing
- ProviderOne resources
- Programs & services
- Apple Health (Medicaid) providers
You will find provider/partner information about behavioral health under the “Programs & services” link.
What do I need to do?
Redirects are in place for our pages, so there should be no broken links, but you should update your browser bookmarks/favorites for the future.
That’s it!
