Behavioral health integration: Changes to HCA website July 1

This is the first of two notifications.

On July 1, the Health Care Authority (HCA) will take on responsibility for the state’s community behavioral health system from the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). This includes community-based mental health services and substance use disorder prevention and treatment.

This exciting change moves our state closer to the goal of whole-person, fully integrated managed care. To reflect the expansion of our services, we are updating our website.

When will these changes occur?

The changes will be made Thursday, June 28, after close of business.

What will change?

We are renaming two of the sections of website:

  1. “Free or low-cost health care” will become “Health care services and supports.”
  2. “Billers and providers” will become “Billers, providers, and partners.”

This means that the beginning part of our URLs (i.e. webpage addresses or links) in these sections will change:

  1. https://www.hca.wa.gov/free-or-low-cost-health-carebecomes:
    https://www.hca.wa.gov/health-care-services-supports/

    AND

  2. https://www.hca.wa.gov/billers-providersbecomes:
    https://www.hca.wa.gov/billers-providers-partners/

Free or low-cost box on the home page

Currently, the box on the home page titled “Free or low-cost” lists:

  • Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage
  • Alternate help with prescriptions
  • News and updates for Apple Health
  • Program administration

After July 1, the box will be renamed to “Health care services and supports” and you will see:

  • Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage
  • Behavioral health and recovery
  • Alternate help with prescriptions
  • Program administration

Billers and providers box on the home page

While the name of the box on the home page will change from “Billers and providers” to “Billers, providers, and partners,” the listing under the box will not change. It will still read:

  • Prior authorization, claims & billing
  • ProviderOne resources
  • Programs & services
  • Apple Health (Medicaid) providers

You will find provider/partner information about behavioral health under the “Programs & services” link.

What do I need to do?

Update your browser bookmarks/favorites. That’s it!

We will send a second notification once the changes are in place.
