May 17, 2018 - Healthier Washington's Quarterly Webinar series
presents
Building equity into Washington State’s health system transformation
"Of all the forms of
inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane."
Martin Luther King’s
declaration sets the stage for Healthier Washington’s upcoming webinar,
“ "Building equity into Washington’s health system transformation."
The webinar will be held
June 6, from noon to 1 p.m. Register for this webinar.
Health Care Authority
director Sue Birch will introduce this webinar, which will describe how the
state's commitment to health equity is embedded in the work of Healthier
Washington.
"Equity in health
care is not a new concept," Birch said. "It’s embodied in our constitution, the
right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
"To live full, happy
lives, people need healthy minds and bodies," Birch continued. "Our communities
flourish when we ensure whole-person health for everyone who lives
there.”
Katharine Weiss, Healthier
Washington’s equity program specialist, acknowledges that while "a rising
tide does not necessarily lift all boats, Healthier Washington is working to
make sure the rising tide of health system transformation is inclusive and
equitable for all Washingtonians."
Weiss will co-present the
webinar with Hadley Morrow, Associate Director of Community Engagement at the
Spokane-based Accountable Community of Health, Better Health Together.
This webinar is part of Healthier Washington's Quarterly Webinar
series.
