 LGBTQ+ Community Subcommittee
The LGBTQ+ Subcommittee advanced outreach and partnership efforts with organizations serving immigrant LGBTQ+ communities across Washington.
This group identified key issues for further action, including language access, healthcare access, and improved representation of intersecting identities in data collection. This work supports the Subcabinet's goal of ensuring immigrant LGBTQ+ voices are included in policy development and community-informed solutions.
This group helps coordinate community engagement events in multiple regions of the state. They helped coordinate community engagement efforts in Whatcom County, Central Washington, and Eastern Washington. The conversations from these events provide opportunities for community members and organizations to share concerns, identify barriers, and inform future recommendations.
 Communications Subcommittee
The Communications Subcommittee launched the Immigration Subcabinet toolkit. Subcommittees and agencies use the toolkit to guide shared branding and messaging about the subcabinet’s work.
This subcommittee evaluated pathways for sharing communication. They developed a new newsletter summary. The summary can be added to any agency’s community or partner communications, such as newsletters. This helps to inform their audiences and build additional engagement.
This team is excited to continue exploring options to share messaging broadly. They want to ensure that all Washingtonians are aware of the ways state government is working for them.

Look through WA for All’s Refugee and Immigrant Resources page for health care resources, cultural centers, and response teams. Washington’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs (CHA) has put together a Rapid Response Hub for use. We also uplift the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and their work with the Family Separation Rapid Response Team.
If you are a Washington state employee needing support, we encourage you to reach out to the Employee Assistance Program. We also encourage you to get plugged into the Washington Immigrant Network, a Business Resource Group for state employees who are immigrants.
