Director's Note: Pride 2026
Pride was born through defiance, tenacity, authenticity, and truth. Those qualities are evident throughout the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. What began as defining moments in many cities across the country of no longer tolerating the brutalization and policing of our lives. People stood up to say, “No, more!”
It is easy to forget that Pride was resistance first. The rainbow flags and parades came later. The demand for dignity and safety ignited what we know Pride to be today. We continue to carry those demands and expectations. As you gather to celebrate and honor the beauty of our communities, slow down and linger longer. Take it all in.
Allow the joy and connections we co-create help you breathe a little deeper and laugh louder. Be audacious and proud. Our histories are overflowing with dynamic, incredible people who have laid the foundation for the LGBTQ+ movement. This is a time to pause to take stalk of how far we have come.
Pride celebrations will be taking place in every size, community, and region of the state, whether rural, suburban, or urban. From Bellingham, Wenatchee, TriCities, Walla Walla, Spokane, Yakima, Vancouver, Seattle, and Port Townsend, there are many opportunities to celebrate.

 📢Annual Pride Flag Raising at the State Capitol Campus is June 3rd at 12:00PM!📢
 Join Governor Ferguson, the Washington State LGBTQ Commission, and the Rainbow Alliance and Inclusion Network as we raise the intersex-inclusive progress pride flag at the Capitol Campus! Hear from various 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied leaders across state government and welcome in pride season.
When: Wednesday, June 3rd beginning at 12:00pm
Where: Washington State Capitol Campus, 416 Sid Snyder Avenue, Olympia, WA. The flag raising will happen at the flag circle between the Legislative Building (building with dome) and the Temple of Justice.
