Flag Lowering - November 5, 2025 (Former Vice President Richard Cheney)

I am deeply saddened by the death of former Vice President Richard “Dick” Cheney, 84, and have his family in my thoughts in this difficult time. I hereby direct that Washington state and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory immediately.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on the day of interment. An updated directive will be issued once the date has been confirmed.

Please notify all of your field offices and facilities around the state.

Other government entities, individuals and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
