Our HAPPEN Executive Leadership Team member, Nadia Damchii, is leading a project to capture data connected to the lived experiences of individuals who identify as immigrants in Washington state government. We are hopeful that the survey will help us better understand the barriers and biases faced by immigrant state employees in the workplace. Our intention is to use the anonymous data to better inform us as we develop training spaces, best practices guides and professional development opportunities for our communities’ members. We also believe in the co-collaborative process of involving state agencies and their leaders to better understand the challenges faced by the immigrant community as they attempt to secure stable state jobs and to identify effective ways to retain and professionally develop them in a manner that is culturally responsive.
If you identify as a first-or second- generation immigrant currently or previously employed in a state government job, we encourage you to take a few minutes to complete this short survey (approximately 5-10 minutes) by 11:59 pm on September 27.
Participation in this survey is voluntary. Your input will be completely anonymous.

- Non-time sensitive submissions will be added to the list to be included in future bulletins when we may be looking for content to share.
- Bulletins will usually be distributed on Mondays. Special bulletins will be sent only as needed to provide an update on something already shared or of an urgent nature.
