ICYMI: The Myth of the Model Minority
If you weren't able to catch our own Jim Mendoza present at the DEI Empowerment Conference, or you want to watch it again and share it with others.
During the session, Jim talks about stereotypes of Asian Americans and how we often are held up as proof that racial labels can be flattering, but they subtly produce a number of problems in schools and workplaces. This presentation defines the term "model minority", illustrating through video and personal experiences the impact of micro and macro-aggressions caused, and offer solutions via open forum.
