OCO Community Public Meeting

We hope you will join us from 4:00-5:30 PM in the Ground Floor Conference Room of the Helen Sommers Building (106 11th Ave. SW, Olympia, WA 98501) to make connections between people and organizations working for positive change in corrections. Engagement with Legislative Session

As a member of the Governor's Small Cabinet, the OCO Director does not have a position on bills that are not part of Governor Inslee's proposed budget. 

The purpose of the OCO is to:  

  • Provide information 
  • Promote public awareness & understanding 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutes, rules, & policies 
  • Identify system issues and responses for the governor & the legislature to act upon

 

OCO Director, Caitlin Robertson, PhD, provided written testimony in support of Senate Bill 5101, concerning extraordinary medical placement for incarcerated individuals at the DOC. Her testimony is available on the OCO website HERE

 

On January 23, 2023, at the public hearing in the Senate Committee on Human Services, Caitlin will provide in person testimony on Senate Bill 5135, concerning solitary confinement. More details can be found on the WA Senate website HERE
