Public Comment

The DCYF Oversight Board encourage public comment and welcomes it in two forms:

1. Orally (virtually, telephonically, or in-person) during the allotted time on the agenda, or in writing. Email Nickolaus.Colgan@gov.wa.gov before, or during the meeting to sign up!

2. Written public comments are welcome, but must be submitted to Nickolaus.Colgan@gov.wa.gov end of day October 17, 2022. Written public comments will be distributed to Board members via email two days prior to the beginning of the Board meeting to allow for sufficient time for Board members’ review.

*Public is welcome to join the meeting! Upon arrival mute yourself immediately to avoid interfering with the conversation. In order to accommodate all the individuals that want to provide comment it is recommended to keep your public comment between 3-5 minutes.*

About

The DCYF Oversight Board was created by HB 1661 in 2017 and was fully formed in March 2019. The Oversight Board is an independent body consisting of 21 members.

The Oversight Board exists for the purpose of monitoring and ensuring that DCYF achieves the stated outcomes as intended by the legislation, and to ensure that the department complies with administrative acts, relevant statutes, rules, and policies pertaining to early earning, juvenile rehabilitation, juvenile justice, and children and family services.
