UPDATE: The 10 year analysis for SSB 5803, titled AN ACT Relating to mitigating the risk of wildfires caused by an electric utility's equipment, has been completed. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year
projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Section 4(3) states the Department of Commerce (department) may assess a fee on each utility required to submit a plan, to recover the costs of the activities required by this section. The department has no way of knowing how many plans will be submitted, the costs associated with the submittal of those plans, or how many fees the department will assess if it chooses to do so.
