UPDATE: The 10 year analysis for HB 2107, titled AN ACT Relating to creating an excise tax on the collection of consumer data by commercial data collectors, has been completed. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

The revenue impact of this bill is indeterminate. The Department is not able to determine what businesses are commercial data collectors. Additionally, the Department does not have information on how many consumers each data collector may collect data on in any average month.
