Please see the below message from our friends at the Washington Immigrant Network (WIN). RAIN’s leadership joins with WIN in expressing our love and support for all of those affected and suffering due to the escalating conflict between Russia and the Ukraine. We specifically hold members of the LGBTQ+ community, who have faced discrimination and abuse in both countries, in our thoughts and encourage our community to seek ways to uplift and support those and other marginalized voices in this conflict.

Rainbow Alliance and Inclusion Network (RAIN)

Today, we express solidarity with the people impacted and suffering because of the Russian and Ukrainian conflict in Europe. We mourn with those who have lost family and friends, and we sympathize with the refugees that have been displaced.

Our thoughts are with all of them in these darkest hours, and we call on the world community to provide them with practical support, aid, and refuge. The civilians and their families and friends have the right to go about their daily lives in peace.

Washington Immigrant Network’s leadership team is committed to supporting our state employees impacted by this conflict. We stand in solidarity with all peaceful efforts to commit to providing a platform for dialogue among diverse groups about this crisis.

WIN will be hosting a Solidarity Gathering on Thursday, March 3 from noon to 1 p.m.

RAIN hosts: Transgender Day of Visibility Panel - March 31

Please join RAIN in celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). TDOV is an annual event to celebrate and raise visibility and awareness around transgender folks. This year we are hosting a panel of transgender state employees who will share their stories and experiences related to being transgender people.

The panel is only open to Washington state employees and employees of Washington Institutions of Higher Education. To register for the event please use your work email. Personal emails will be denied registration.

LLN Hosts: Celebrating Women's History Appreciation Month Discussion Panel

The month of March is Women’s History Month. It’s a time to reflect on the historical contributions of women and honor their influence. In celebration of this, the LLN has asked three female leaders to participate in a discussion panel where they will share some of their experiences and answer a few questions.
We welcome all members, guests, and allies to attend this Lunch & Learn event on: Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2022 from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

standup against street harassment in partnership with loreal paris, hollaback

Hollaback! hosts Stand Up Against Street Harassment - Bystander Intervention Training

Hollaback!, L’Oréal Paris, the NYC Commission on Gender Equity, and the NYC Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence join forces to ensure everyone’s self-worth, leveraging Hollaback!’s 5D’s methodology to help people safely intervene when they experience or witness harassment in public spaces. Through this 1 hour training we use a clear, adaptable, and expert-approved set of tools that have been proven to reduce the prevalence of street harassment. The goal of the Stand Up program is to ultimately build a culture where street harassment is seen as unacceptable behavior.
