HB 1439, titled AN ACT Relating to authorizing military surplus vehicles to operate on public highways, has been introduced in the House of Representatives. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

It is not known how many MSVs might qualify to be registered as a result of this proposed legislation. Per section 5, these vehicles must still meet on-road requirements in order to be registered as a collector MSV. While it is assumed that there will be more vehicles that would be registered if this legislation was enacted, presently, it is not known how many new registrations would occur.
