SB 5022, titled AN ACT Relating to the management of certain materials to support recycling and waste and litter reduction, has been passed by the Senate Committee on Environment, Energy & Technology. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Utilities and Transportation Comm:

Section 12 allows the Commission to exempt the collection of covered materials from RCW 81.77. If the commission exempts the materials, there is a potential for a reduction in fees. The potential amount is indeterminant until the situation occurs.
