The department does not set, administer or collect the tax or fee contained in this bill.
AGO Assumptions:
1. Section 1 allows for the collection of a fee for the request of a review. The fee is $100.
2. The AGO Consumer Protection division assumes 30 reviews will be requested per month based on the enactment of this bill. CPR assume a heavy volume of claims based on workload at the Growth Management Hearings Board, and larger scope of work for this bill (even if limited to 30 per month). (30 * 12 * $100 = $36,000 per FY)
3. The collection of the $100 fee is indeterminate. Bill language provides that the AGO my waive the review fee in certain circumstances.
4. The Growth Management Hearing Board assumes it will receive 30 cases to review per year at $250 per review for a total of $7,500 per year.
5. AGO and GMHB fees are not adequate to cover AGO costs, At a minimum, GMHB would need to charge 3,050 matters ($250 each) to cover AGO projected expenditures. Additional spending by the AGO for victim payments is not included in these assumptions.
