The Department of Health anticipates no new revenue.

AN ACT Relating to public records request administration.

Under current law the competitive grant program for local agencies to improve technology information systems for public record retention, management and disclosure, and any related training is set to cease on June 30, 2020.  The grant program is administered by the Division of Archives and Records Management in the Office of the Secretary of State.

This legislation removes the June 30, 2020 cessation date for the competitive grant program.

This legislation also adds an additional $1 surcharge assessed on documents recorded with the county auditor to fund the grant program, the Attorney General's consultation program, and the requirement that State Archives offer and provide consultation and training services for local agencies on improving retention practices effective June 30, 2020.

This legislation results in no revenue impact to taxes administered by the Department of Revenue.
