SHB 1134, titled AN ACT Relating to standardizing fire safety codes for mobile food establishments, has been passed by the House Committee on Local Government. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This bill has no impact on cash receipts, as it does not create any fees collected by DOL.

None. The fire district that performs the fire inspection of the mobile food unit or conversion vending unit, collects and retains the proceeds from the state fire permit fee. Therefore there is no impact to fees that L&I collects.

There are no cash receipts to the Washington State Patrol as a result of this proposed legislation.  The proposed legislation standardizes fire safety codes for mobile food units and conversion vending units and requires the Building Code Council to consult with the State Fire Marshal’s Office in the preparation of fire code rules.  Once rules are established, these units must be inspected annually by a local Washington fire district.  All fees will be collected and retained by the local fire districts.

There is no data available to estimate the number of filings.
