SB 5230, titled AN ACT Relating to amending motor vehicle laws to align with federal definitions, make technical corrections, and move an effective date to meet a federal timeline, has been scheduled for a public hearing by the Senate Committee on Transportation.

The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

DOL assumes there will be no revenue impact due to the technical corrections in the agency proposed legislation.  Proposed legislation codifies current administrative practices.
