SB 6617, titled AN ACT Relating to records disclosure obligations of the legislative branch, has been introduced in the Senate. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This bill, among other provisions, allows the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Secretary of the Senate to charge fees for providing copies of legislative public records. Rates specified include fifteen cents per page for printed copies, ten cents per page for scanned electronic copies, five cents for electronic files delivered electronically, and the actual cost of any digital storage media or device provided to the requester. There are currently no available data on the number of applicable requests that would be received by the Senate and House under this new legislation.  Therefore, the total ten-year cost to fee payers is indeterminate.
