2SHB 2227, titled AN ACT Relating to the laboratory testing of marijuana products, has been scheduled for a public hearing by the Senate Committee on Labor & Commerce.

Date and Time: 02/22/2018 1:30PM (Subject to change by the Legislature.)
Location: J.A. Cherberg Building, Senate Hearing Rm 4, Olympia, WA

The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

   Marijuana

Producer License

   Marijuana Retailer License

Total:

In addition to amounts estimated above, this bill would also require the Department of Ecology to develop a fee schedule to fully cover the costs of implementing a marijuana product testing laboratory accreditation program. However, Ecology assumes it would not be able to determine the cost of an accreditation program and the fees necessary to cover the costs of the accreditation program until after the recommendations report is submitted to the legislature and a rulemaking process is undertaken. Therefore, the total ten-year cost to fee payers of this aspect of the bill is indeterminate.
