SHB 2278, titled AN ACT Relating to enhancing personal information privacy protections in government entities, has been passed by the House Committee on Transportation. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This bill requires the Department of Licensing (DOL) to collect a $13 fee for each abstract of a person’s driving record furnished by the department. DOL is unable to predict the impact of this change at this time, as no usable data or records currently exist.  Therefore, the total ten-year cost to fee payers is indeterminate.
