SHB 2227, titled AN ACT Relating to the laboratory testing of marijuana products, has been passed by the House Committee on Commerce & Gaming. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This
bill would require the Department of Ecology to develop a fee schedule to fully cover the costs of implementing a marijuana product testing laboratory accreditation program.  However, Ecology assumes it would not be able to determine the cost of an accreditation program and the fees necessary to cover the costs of the accreditation program until after a recommendations report is submitted to the legislature and a rulemaking process is undertaken. Therefore, the total ten-year cost to fee payers is indeterminate at this time.
