SSB 5386, titled AN ACT Relating to strengthening the initiative process by providing for more comprehensive review before initiatives receive ballot titles, has been passed by the Senate Committee on State Government, Tribal Relations & Elections. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

With the increased fee as stated in section 7, the total number of filings will likely be less. We are unable to determine the effect of the fee increase on the number of submissions nor are we able to determine how many will receive a refund.  Therefore, the cash receipts are indeterminate.

No revenue impact.
