SB 6510, titled AN ACT Relating to benefit managers, has been introduced in the Senate. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

This bill would require Health Benefit Managers to register with the Office of Insurance Commissioner (OIC). The commissioner would set the registration fee to allow the registration and oversight activities to be self supporting. Since this fee would be collected by the OIC there is no impact to HCA.
