SB 6151, titled AN ACT Relating to creating a special license plate to support the maintenance and improvements of Washington state parks, has been scheduled for a public hearing by the Senate Committee on Transportation.

Date and Time: 01/29/2018 3:30PM (Subject to change by the Legislature.)
Location: J.A. Cherberg Building, Senate Hearing Rm 1, Olympia, WA

The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

If this bill becomes law it would allow vehicle owners the option to choose a new type of specialty license plate, the Washington State Parkes – Sasquatch plate, for their vehicle in lieu of the standard issue plate. The total ten-year cost to fee payers is indeterminate because there was no petition or survey to estimate the demand for this particular plate. The fees over and above standard issue plates for this specialty plate are $40 for original plates and $30 for renewal plate tabs.
