SHB 2381, titled AN ACT Relating to allowing certain adult family homes to increase capacity to eight beds, has been passed by the House Committee on Health Care & Wellness. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This bill requires the Department of Social and Health Services to charge an applicant requesting to increase the bed capacity at an Adult Family Home (AFH) to seven or eight beds a fee of $453 per home.  The total ten-year cost to fee payers is indeterminate as it is unknown how many AFHs will request to expand bed capacity to seven/eight beds.
