HB 2620, titled AN ACT Relating to strengthening the initiative process by providing for more comprehensive review before initiatives receive ballot titles, has been introduced in the House of Representatives. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This bill increases the filing fee for initiatives to the people or initiatives to the Legislature to $500. This is expected to decrease total number of filings by an unknown amount; therefore, the total ten-year cost to fee payers cash is indeterminate.
