SB 5447, titled AN ACT Relating to the methods of services provided by the office of public guardianship, has been passed by the Senate Committee on Law & Justice. The Office of Financial Management has identified this bill as requiring a ten-year projection of increased cost to the taxpayers or affected fee payers.

Ten-year projection:

This bill
provides that fees may be collected from the estate of persons whose income level exceeds two hundred percent of the federal poverty level, based on a fee schedule established by the Office of Public Guardianship. There are no data available to estimate the number or amount of fees that could be collected because of this bill; therefore, the total ten-year cost to fee payers is indeterminate.
