Due to the EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR (26-03) only agricultural burning with a written permit is allowed. All outdoor and permit exempt burning (orchard prunings, ditch banks, fence rows, irrigation canals, windblown tumbleweeds) is prohibited at this time.

Please Note:

If you would like to discuss information about burning, please call the Dept. of Ecology - Eastern Regional Office at (509) 329-3400 and ask for the burn team member on duty.  Office hours are M-F from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The daily burn decision for Ecology regulated Eastern Washington counties is determined by the regional office responsible for the county in question. The Eastern Regional Office (ERO) in Spokane is responsible for the following counties: Adams, Asotin, Columbia, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Walla Walla and Whitman.  Call (509) 329-3400 for questions concerning these counties.

The Central Regional Office (CRO) in Union Gap is responsible for the following counties: Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, Klickitat and Okanogan.  Call (509) 575-2490 for questions concerning these counties.
