The Spokane International Airport, City of Spokane, and Spokane County (responsible parties) now have a one-stop information source for people on private wells in the interim action area. The site includes:
- An online form to sign up for testing
- Information about where to pick up free water filters and containers and how to access the fill station
- Frequently asked questions
- Contact information
- Technical questions about water service and to find out if you live in the interim action area: Call 3-1-1 or 509-755-2489
- Well testing questions: Email gegwater@spokaneairports.net
The responsible parties also mailed this information to people in the interim action area, and the well testing form can be mailed in if you prefer. Testing is required to begin by July 13.

Submit comments by June 30 on the short-term plan to provide safe water; public meeting June 16 now includes an open house
Ecology is requiring the airport, city, and county to provide safe water to private wells with PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) above drinking water standards in the interim action area north and east of the airport. This plan details how they are supplying point-of-use filters and water containers to everyone in the affected area, and offering PFAS testing to all private wells in the affected area.
Public meeting and open house — Water filters and containers will be available to take home, 5:30–8:00 p.m., June 16
The responsible parties will join us for an open house and public meeting where we will discuss the short-term work plan, provide an update on the investigation, answer your questions, listen to your concerns, and accept written comments. Water filters and containers will be available in the lobby for people on private wells in the interim action area. You do not need well test results to get these items.
Event time, date, and location

- Open house, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
- Meeting, 6:30–7:30 p.m.

Ecology provided comments on long-term plan to provide safe water; updated version due July 2
The draft long-term interim action work plan details how the responsible parties will supply point-of-entry treatment (POET) systems to people with contaminated private wells or connect them to city water where possible. The work will include maintaining the treatment systems and periodically testing private wells and filtered water.
We expect the work to begin later this year. We will hold a 60-day public comment period and public meeting for the long-term interim action work plan.
205 under-sink filters installed as of May 26
DOH is continuing to work with Fogle Pump and Supply to install under-sink filters (Pentair ChlorPlus Protect 10 system).
There's still time to sign up!
The plan is to finish by June 30, 2026, because the contracts for under-sink filter installations will end then.
