Public Review and Comment Period Begins for Green Hydrogen Energy Facilities Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS)
Washington Department of Ecology sent this bulletin at 01/07/2025 01:54 PM PSTEcology invites members of the public, Tribal governments, and agencies to provide input on a Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for green hydrogen production and storage facilities.
The public comment period began at 12:00 p.m. January 7, 2025, and ends 11:59 p.m. February 6, 2025.
We are providing information at three different levels of detail. A summary of the Draft PEIS provides an overview of the findings. The Draft PEIS document includes information on potential impacts and mitigation actions. The appendices include detailed and technical evaluations of each resource.
You can provide comments by submitting written comments using the online form or by mail, as well as by commenting at the public hearings. Comments should focus on the substance of the Draft PEIS and be as specific as possible.

The public comment period is an opportunity for interested parties to provide input on the Draft PEIS. This could include comments on the adequacy of the PEIS, types of facilities evaluated, methodology used, mitigation measures identified, or additional information that should be considered.
Ecology will review and consider all comments received during the comment period and may revise the study as a result. The Final PEIS will be completed by the legislatively mandated date of June 30, 2025, and made available to the public.
