Summary
The Department of Ecology (Ecology) is developing a new rule, Chapter 173-905 WAC, Battery Stewardship Program. This rule will guide implementation of Chapter 70A.555 RCW Batteries—Environmental Stewardship. The new law creates an extended producer responsibility (EPR) program that will increase opportunity for people to recycle unwanted batteries.
