The Department of Social and Health Services, Developmental Disabilities Administration is pleased to announce that registration for the virtual Community Summit 2026 is now open at www.communitysummit.ws.
The Summit will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, streaming live from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is open to all and is free of charge.
The Community Summit is a much-anticipated annual event full of good information and topics that help drive our work, collaboration, and vision for the future, and brings together people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, self-advocates, families, friends, allies, service providers and community partners. Through this annual event, we work together to create more inclusive communities and expand the capacity of our service systems to support all people to live the life they want to live.
This year's event features an opening keynote message from DSHS Secretary Angela Ramirez. The speakers and presentation schedule features topics including employment rights for workers with disabilities, developmental disabilities advocacy and emerging technologies for greater independence in the home, workplace and community.
Counties throughout the state are hosting in-person community watch parties for community members to participate in the Summit. Find a Watch Party near you!
DDA has hosted this annual conference since 2013, usually as an in-person conference, but when the need arises it is hosted as a virtual event. This year, it will be hosted as a live-streamed virtual event to stay within state budget requirements.
Please visit www.communitysummit.ws for information on the full program schedule, speakers, and to register.
