New DSHS Dementia, Level 2 Specialty Course: Instructor Class Schedule Available Now!
We are excited to announce the official launch of our newest expanded specialty curriculum, Dementia, Level 2 Specialty. Caring with Connection, Compassion, and Confidence.
Course Description:
Dementia, Level 2 Specialty is an advanced training program designed to equip caregivers with tools and strategies to foster meaningful, compassionate, and person-centered care for individuals living with dementia. Building on foundational knowledge, this course focuses on the caregiver’s own wellness, empathetic communication, and relationship-building, while offering actionable techniques to manage behavioral challenges and preserve dignity throughout the dementia journey.
Learners will engage in dynamic modules that emphasize self-compassion, holistic wellness, and emotional resilience, followed by practical approaches to relationship-centered care. Through interactive lessons, real-world scenarios, and structured reflection assignments, participants will explore the power of empathy, autonomy, and individualized support in dementia caregiving. The course also introduces evidence-based frameworks such as Humanitude and the Best Friends™ approach to deepen trust and enhance well-being for both caregivers and care recipients.
Each module builds toward integrating learned skills into a cohesive caregiver toolbox, fostering professional confidence and a supportive caregiving community. By the end of the course, participants will have developed a personalized strategy to sustain caregiver wellness, prevent burnout, and continue growing in their caregiving role.
