Start Using the Updated Orientation and Safety Trainings Now
Instructors approved to teach Orientation and Safety should start using these newly updated materials immediately. The updated Orientation was released in 2024.

Reminder: What has changed in these updates?
- All content was updated, vetted, and reviewed by over 50 contributors and it reflects changes in policy and practices
- Content and design restructured to improve learner outcomes
- Images and language adjusted to be inclusive and representative of the diversity of caregivers, DSHS clients, and long-term care residents
- Person-centered concepts incorporated throughout
- New person-centered content on handling violence in the workplace and creating welcoming environments
- Sections for learners to take notes
- Real-life stories to reinforce concepts
- “Printer-friendly” design that will print well in color or greyscale to save ink and toner
- Fully accessible documents!
