 Fundamentals of Caregiving 3rd Edition
What is going on?
Home and Community Services staff have worked with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the state to perform a thorough overhaul of the Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving. The new edition, now titled Fundamentals of Caregiving 3rd edition, will be available for use in Spring 2022.
What has changed?
- All content updated, vetted, and reviewed by subject matter experts to reflect changes in policy and practices
- Content restructured to improve learner outcomes
- Complete visual redesign
- Images and language adjusted to be inclusive and representative of the diversity of caregivers, DSHS clients, and long-term care residents
- New module on person-centered care and honoring differences
- Person-centered concepts incorporated throughout
- Full-color images and text
- A redesigned facilitator’s guide
What’s next?
- We will conduct a focused pilot prior to the release of the new materials.
