Washington State Department of Social & Health Services

Aging and Long-Term Support Administration

                               March 30, 2020

The federal government recently increased Federal Match Assistance Percentages (FMAP) for all states. This has enabled the state to increase the Nursing Facility daily rate by $29 per day. The following class codes will have the Add-On applied: 20, 24, 29, 45, 50, 55, 60, 66, 67. This increase is back-dated to February 1, 2020.

You do not need to do anything special or extra to receive this Add-On. Rates with this Add-On were loaded last Friday, March 27. Days you bill for going forward, even dates of service between February 1 and March 27, will pay out at the correct amount. Days that have already been billed for do not need to be adjusted. The Department is currently processing mass adjustments to correct those days. Once the mass adjustments have been calculated they will be loaded into ProviderOne and you will see them reflected on the subsequent RA.

If you did submit billing on March 27, you do not need to do anything to those claims. If you did not submit billing on March 27, thank you. Your cooperation will help get the mass adjustments processed as quickly as possible.

At this time, we do not know the actual end-date of this Add-On. The enhanced FMAP is available until the last day of the calendar quarter in which the emergency is declared over. Currently we intend to continue this Add-On until that date. When we know the actual date the enhanced FMAP will end we will send you a notification.

Please note: The additional $29 Add-On will not be subject to settlement.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we get through these times together.
