Washington's Voices of Children Raised by Grandparents and Other Relatives Contest

Now is the time to submit your entry for the 15th annual Voices of Children contest. This contest is for children and youth in our state being raised by a relative other than their parents – commonly known as kinship care.

Voices of Children, co-sponsored by DSHS, showcases drawings, stories and poems by children, describing how living with a relative has made a positive difference in their lives. The six winning entries will receive a $100 from Twin Star Credit Union and a free night for a family of four at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound.

Entry and rule information is included on the English and Spanish flyers. The contest is open to children and youth ages 5-19 and entries must be postmarked by April 1, 2018.

If you have questions, please contact staff at Family Education and Support Services, (360) 754-7629, 1-(877) 813-2828 or email Lynn@Familyess.org.
